Right, obviously a new Alkan CD is a rare event which is why the following text appeared when i hit reply:

Anyway, i read about this on the Alkan Society forum this morning and then by complete fluke found the details on MDT:

If it is as good as Alban Gerhardt's (and Steven Osborne's) previous recordings, it should certainly be worth buying!

I think there was a recent Naxos alkan cd out...can't remember what though: possibly chamber stuff.  You're going to get it are you?  If you do, do let us know what you think...i'm a bit strapped at the moment cashwise.

I am also very interested in this topic, Jonathan.

Can you please post what you think about Alkan CD. I may miss the other link that you gave in your post.
I have a strong interest in Alkan now. I know his a little about his piano music. I don't know much about his chamber output.

Ho Increpatio and t-p,

My own finances are somewhat strained at the moment (don't ask) so it's unlikely i'll buy the disc in the forseeable future  Sad  but i have added it to my wishlist for my girlfriend to see so you never know...
