Strange that the two depicted sleeves should encapsulate some of the most disappointing recordings I've ever heard, though at least the Britten is essential for the only recording of a work not mentioned on the cover (Men of Goodwill).

I really like Gergiev's interpretation, but the recording is very disappointing. The artificial reverb is way over the top; it's actually less noticeable on SACD than the CD issue.

Yes, I have all of those, Ron, and the Beecham has long been a favourite. Got the Reiner last year - electric performance.
For modern recordings, I love the Mackerras and, oddly enough, Dutoit's.
