This is scary, Richard and martle - a pamphlet from the local branch of Mothers Against Serialism listed some of these names, but now that I can see their pictures, it sends a shiver down my spine. They are rumoured to have a secret headquarters in a high-tech cave, where they hatch their plans to the accompaniment of torturous pointillistic music, which their brains have been programmed to think they 'like'. Here is a picture from during the last period of serial terror, showing the Godfather of the organisation conversing and plotting with one of his then-young followers. This latter gentleman is supposed to have been given covert support by the traitorous French government and is himself installed in a bunker somewhere in Paris.

Sometimes the serialists will try and win your trust by falsely presenting a more light-hearted side, even playing games with you. Do not be fooled by this. Here, for example, is one of them playing a seemingly innocuous game of charades:

Yes, but he looks so... so... forlorn.

Anyhow, how could he help but be a despicable technocrat when this guy was his teacher:

You might have thought that this man did nothing worse than simply write turgid pieces made out of rehashed Beethoven. You would be wrong, he was once a SERIALIST!!!

And even this man, however much he has given the impression of having integrated fully into American life, and accepted the marketplace with which God blessed America, was also once a SERIALIST!!

Remember - these serialists are DIRTY and they are DEVIOUS. You will read many interviews with composers who tell you how they once felt imprisoned by the stranglehold of serialism, which held the musical world in the Dark Ages for many decades, but now they have been liberated by that postmodern pluralism that blew away serialism just as freedom and democracy won over communism. DO NOT BE FOOLED! They only do this in order to obtain power and influence, to gain commissions, contracts with Faber Music and performances at Tanglewood. Once installed in there, they will continue their plans for WORLD DOMINATION!

ONCE A SERIALIST, ALWAYS A SERIALIST!!!

He also looks a hell of a lot younger than he does now.  Time to update that silly photo, I think.  Don't want to be like RB, still using my 25 yr old visage two decades from now ...

Hahahahahahaha.

I also once took some lessons w/ this guy:

While we're at it, I think my absolute least favorite bit of composer/performer ridiculousness is the folks who post photo galleries of themselves carousing w/ various famous people.

This one's a gem:

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)
