I also second (third) p.w.'s comment. Radar waves are naturally occurring and less dangerous than others (try reading a physics chapter, it's not that difficult) and man-made radar is weak and radar detectors use amplification.
The most dangerous radiation to beware of is that of the sun.The lightwave radiation - don't look directly at the sun.
The infra-red radiation - keep drinking or you'll dehydrate.
The UV radiation - don't hang around in the sun without UV protection cream.
The atmosphere protects us from severe exposure to these and other radiations when the sun is 'normal' but we must watch out for sunspot activity and other phenomena, though not much we can do about them
Seems to me this thread is all about 20th/21st Century's old-wives' tales (no disrespect to the ladies posting
) and it's unfortunate that the internet does little to educate people as there's so much rubbish on it. Wikipedia is pretty good now however; there seems to be enough honest knowledgeable people monitoring it.
