Does anyone ever know in which direction the police cars with the sirens wailing are coming from?

A,

One of the useful aspects of modern police sirens IS the unpredictable source direction

a) the crooks don't know which way to escape

b) law-abiding citizens like you and me will be extra-cautious and take care, looking in mirrors, looking left and right etc to avoid obstructing them or causing collisions

Unfortunately, some folks don't pay attention and get in the way. I'm not saying it's their fault.

Sorry for posting an on-topic message, but I can't resist dumb Why? questions  Wink

Hmm, I must visit the Why? thread again....

I ate greens once, tasted of Dickens, took 25 mins to work to particularize the inside of my mouth before I was able to move on to the carrot.

Milly is cared for by Maria Pieta, the Mother Superior, who is staying on at the seminary together with the rector, Father Ivo Muser, during the Pope's holiday. The rector told Corriere della Sera that the Pope liked to have Milly at his side while reading and "dedicates a few moments to her every day, stroking her head".

Probably because there were donkeys at John Lewis today.
