I love violas. They have to play louder and not to be afraid to come out (in my opinion).
I love the sound of viola. I have a viola here that was given to me.
I want to play and I had an introductory lesson. I know I could be good if I would be six years old now. However, I have no time.
Plus my friend told me: Why do you want to be a bad viola player instead of a good pianist.
Now viola is resting in its case.

t-p,

The violas in this thread (mostly) are smal plants.  The instrument has the stress as viola, and the plant has the stress as viola.

Lovely little things (unlike..... Wink)

I love all kinds of violas. I love this viola.

How about this Stradivari tenor viola?

I know it will sound good by just looking at it.

I had violas in a previous garden and they were perennial.  Very pretty.

I have been looking at online vegetable catalogues and apart from the amazing varieties of potatoes you can get red spring onions (must look pretty in a salad) and purple brussel sprouts!

These are the red spring onions, next to them are purple ones which are slightly bigger, don't know why the picture is so small?  Don't they look nice?  The pic of the sprouts didn't come out well.

Although the sprouts are a deep reddish-purple on the plant when peeled and cooked they are quite variagated.  Do you fancy a dish of them Mort?

Do you think this shoes will be good for her? They might come handy in the garden if it is very wet.

A mysterious plant appeared outside the kitchen, probably 'planted' by birds. It shot up quickly, it's about 4 ft, and was then decimated by tiny green caterpillars. This morning the leaf skeletons covered with rain drops looked just lovely. I think I'll leave it there and see what it does next year.
