Ah! New developments in the HOON room! I was getting worried we'd run out of steam!

Well, I suppose now this one has to come here...

If ever thou gav'st hos'n and shoon,
 Every nighte and alle,
 Sit thee down and put them on;
 And Christe receive thy saule.

 If hos'n and shoon thou ne'er gav'st nane,
 Every nighte and alle,
 The winnies shall prick thee to the bare bane;
 And Christe receive thy saule.

That's from the Serenade for Tenor, Hooooooooooooooooon and Strings, n'est-ce pas?

Ho!   I am happy to announce that the electric Five Barred Diamond Braced Gate is now ready for performance.  The insulation is guaranteed sound and has been approved as safe.  Tomorrow morning I will despatch it to our world famous colleague for testing and, I trust, approval.  I sincerely hope that he will find the new effects (the wide range of vibrato with, if required, echo - and the range which has been extended to five octaves) to his liking.  Let us hope that, soon, we will hear him performing upon this new virtuoso instrument.
Cheers

Well, I'm still getting grief over the rat (see Grumpy Old Rant thread)  Sad
And the neighbours are holding a noisy party  Sad

On the other hand, I've just got back from a Brighton and Hove youth brass festival concert, with nearly a hundred enthusiastic young brass players on stage blowing away for all they were worth  Smiley

Which reminds me ...

I know there hasn't been one around here for a long time, but I definitely feel one coming on .....

HOOOOOOOOOOON!

There.  That feels better.  Most therapeutic.

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

Could that be Geoff Hoon, spinning collapso, and if so did he Hoon as a young blade? Does he harbour a repressed urge to do so again?
