I used to go out every Sunday morning with a rambling club (late 1970s) very much enjoyed it, especially with a lunchtime pub in the middle. All stopped when I got married  Undecided

Hugo Wolf was another enthusiast of the country walk.

Not to mention Songs Of A Wayfarer. Winterreise, On Wenlock Edge and others...

Holst and Vaughan Williams taking a break during a walk in the Malvern Hills (where I hope to be heading soon!)

Not yet, Sunday mornings are about the only time I get to myself, to listen to music and tidy up the office bit of the house.

Sounds as though you need a course of Percy Grainger.

Crikey.
On first inspection (albeit superficial), that looked like a lady wearing a skirt (while I presume that it's a score on RVW's lap) and I was rather disturbed not to have a bottom to the photo (as it were) - all sorts of things could've been going on in a suitably rustic imagination.

Sounds as though you need a course of Percy Grainger.
Or a coarser Percy Grainger?

Country walks are fantastic, especially if you don't have to live there.  I love walking, which is just as well as my journey through life seems destined to be shared by some very large dog or other.  Roll Eyes

It's a beautiful day here.  Sunny, crisp and cold so Dudley and I are off on our rambles in a few minutes.  I've discovered I can't take him on the beach because, unusually in my experience for this breed, he loves the water and just rushes straight into the sea and makes for the horizon.  Shocked  Fortunately there are plenty of country walks around here.  Grin

Oh, one of those is he?

Definitely.  He is also a sandwich short of a picnic!  What a barmy creature.  Hugely loveable and great character.  I'm besotted already.  Cheesy

Milly, try that ramblers group link, when i went on a local walk recently I ended up talking with the chairman about opera and ballet, you see, "all the best people go on country walks".

Ah but can you take your dog with you?  I've no time for rambling other than with him these days.
