Sorry, I'm just a bit lazy about going to the trouble of quoting from another thread (maybe there's an easier way of doing it I haven't discovered). It won't happen again.

I'm not getting at your Richard.  I just read "awfullot" and thought "Ha ha! What idiot wrote that..!?"

Then I did a search and found out it was me.   Embarrassed

Maybe people should continue by not quoting the perpetrator of the crime - if only that we get a little frisson of excitement as we search for "Who was the idiot who wrote that?"..... Smiley

...Believe us Queen Mary remains to this day the best and most reliable guide upon all matters of taste.

How could we not believe you? One brief mention of the name "Shostakovich" and she'd have us burnt at the stake as heretics before we could utter the name "Queen Elizabeth"!
Baz

Shostakovich proper n - deviant archaic spelling of "Schshoucstakouvicsch", the preferred accepted transliteration in all reputable musicological circles (viz "The Grew Guide To Music"; "Objectively Verified Execrable Composers - A Spotter's Guide"; "Proceedings Of The Australian Musicophobical Society 1986-7" etc).
