although the purfling is of god quality on my fid.

of god quality:  having divine or immortal characteristics; an over-inflated phrase usually used disingenuously by people contemplating instrument insurance fraud.

Actually GG, I thought the noun was 'Forebear' and the verb was 'forbear'.  But indeed, 'forbear' is acceptable as the noun, too.  So you can take that

Aaaarrrggghh.  Grin Grin Grin

back.

hhgggrrraaaA

There.  I did it for you.

Gosh. That's very kind of you, Tommo. When we next meet I shall be happy to thank you with some bottom-kissing (a bad thing, but under my own name) or, if you prefer, bottom-spanking (a good thing, but I do it under an assumed name).

It was a mistake even so . I hadn't realised before that 'forbear' was an acceptable alternative spelling for 'forebear' as well as the (non-alternative) spelling for 'forbear'. Useful that. It won't help much with 'foresight' though which I'm also always getting wrong.

sponsered links (n. plur) A strong chain manufactured during the decadent late-20th century in which the links were made of nickel-steel, then silver-plated (i.e. Silver-Plate On Nickel-Steel; hence sponsered = made that way).
