I think a fairly extensive rewriting of the definition of "saint" would be required in his case. Surely even Simon Templar would agree.

During my convent education I was absolutely devoted to the admirable St Barnabus of the Blessed Bloater. He has been a great influence on my life. Sadly, I cannot find a representation of him anywhere on the net. How terribly sad, Kitty .....

I found the Uccello after searching for "Saint John and Brill". Fascinating, I wasn't aware that Ucello had painted the subject. He seems not to have known the story in detail though.

Kitty,

My life is now almost complete. It would be complete if it wasn't for the fact I have never seen St Jerome and the Holy Armadillo of War......

... Uccello da Messina's "Saint Jerome riding the Holy Armadillo of War"

That's a delight, Kittybriton. Shame about the loss of the tips of the right wing and foot. What with sharing a birthday with Prokofiev, an' all, a print the Ucello has adorned a wall somewhere in my accomodation since before my teens. I used to wonder which nation's airforce the dragon flew for. Wink

So what do I do now?

That surprised me Mort, I've got that lemon picture set as the background image on one of the desktops on my Linux computer, and I've come to regard it as mine - it isn't though, I just pinched it from someone else.

This fine fellow is the background on another desktop (you can have mutiple desktops, I've got it set up with 4) - again it's not my pic.
