Second and final attempt - Queen Mary's Funeral Sorry, nothing to do with Queen Mary or with funerals (but the "ode" bit was right).

According to Uncle Sydney's rules I am not allowed any further stabs I think after this one. Purcell wrote hundreds of them Odes! Sounds a bit Irish to me, your clip. How about Return, Revolting Rebels? Or am I thinking of Oliver Cromwell and Andrew Marvell?

So 273 is an orchestral suite/ arrangement from an opera. It sounds so familiar but I cannot quite place it. I think it could be the Ritual Dances from Tippett's Midsummer Marriage?
16331 + 20 = 16351

Members have shown not the slightest interest in Puzzle 243, although it is quite the wrong time of day to do so now, I suppose. (That counts as a clue, btw)A third clue towards No.243 (Here is Puzzle 243: SendSpace or Rapidshare): the composer of this ballet suite was Italian! 16351 + 75 = 16426

WAY off, I'm afraid. You're looking for something about 40 years earlier than that. The title of this orchestral piece doesn't contain the title of the opera it came from (or went into, I'm not sure).

It's not Stamitz. I'm losing track of the rules about clues or whether my answer counts officially as a clue. The composer was associated with Paganini.

Thanks to Tony's clues, I think 269 must be:
Allessandro Rolla: Concerto for Basset Horn
(No Points Please, I'm British)

Roll out the barrel - Rolla it is and his basset horn concerto! 180 points are yours for the taking, George. As to where this puzzle came from I'll just repeat the link for the benefit of our esteemed moderator. http://r3ok.myforum365.com/index.php?topic=2508.msg97378#msg97378

232 is from a Welcome Ode for King James, by Henry Purcell. There aren't that many of them!
272 is by a member of the Danish nation.
The composer of 273 died soon after being deprived by the Nazis of his two academic appointments in Berlin.
As for that apostrophe, George, we had all politely averted our eyes and were feeling rather sorry for you, but you had to go and draw attention to it again, didn't you?

Is 272 Per Nørgård's Symphony No.3?
16501 + 20 = 16521
