Whereas 504 is from the slow movement from the Shostakovich cello concerto no. 1.

That is also correct - one of my favourite, most moving pieces too!

498 is the Marche Tartare from Marin Marais's Suitte d'un goût étranger.

Who's playing in this version?  I'm very fond of Christophe Coin's recording - very sensual!

Could no. 499 be from the Musette of Handel's trio sonata Op.5 no.2 in D major?

Spot on! The recording was on Aliavox (AVSA9851 A) with Jordi Savall (bass viol), Pierre Hantai (clavecin), Philippe Pierlot (bass viol), Rolf Lislevand/Xavier Diaz-Latorre (theorboes and guitars), Andrew Lawrence-King (three-course harp) and Pedro Estevan (percussion).

It is indeed 'very sensual' music of great expressiveness.

Bears a striking resemblance to P. Hindemith: Ouvertüre zum "Fliegenden Holländer", wie sie eine schlechte Kurkapelle morgens um 7 am Brunnen vom Blatt spielt.

We shall take a wild guess at the Tippett sonata for four horns as 508.

Wild guesses can pay off. You are correct.

Far be it from be to resist an open goal.

497 must be Tippett - Divertimento on Sellinger's Round.
