Thought I would copy trj`s post here, lest it get overlooked on the Happy Birthday thread ... Thanks, all! I had a spiffing day - and as Martle mentioned, I also bring the news that come July there should be a brand-new mini trj in the world; my wife and baby have just passed the magic 12-week mark and all is well so far! (Grainy ultrasound pictures make a great birthday present!) Congratulations to you both trj. Well, the three of you actually !

Beautiful day here! Cold and breezy but sunny and bright. Beach is crowded with kite-fliers and I've got a line of washing out for the first time in ages. Mary if you're around, are you feeling better?

Hello. Milly, and thank you for asking. I'm a lot better but I still feel rather low, so I shouldn't really be in the Happy Room - except of course it may cheer me up. No energy at all.
A happy bit of news - my son is getting married this year. This is no surprise to anyone, since it's been obvious right from the start (a year last Easter) that he had met the right girl. Nice to know that they are actually going to marry, though! I'll get me 'at.

Thanks, all! What sort of food should I be putting out for storks? And will my cat be a problem?
Congratulations Mary for the forthcoming family nuptials!

You could have a look here trj http://www.bbc.co.uk/parenting/having_a_baby/pregnancy_diet.shtmlAs for the cat, couples that I know that have a cat have ensured that they have a cat net to place over the crib just in case kitty decides to settle down for a nap in the warm (cats being heat seeking devices)

I've never owned a cat but if I put the pram out in the garden I always had a net over it just in case.

I've been trying to work out whether you thought the cat might be a problem for the stork or for the baby.
When we had our first child the cat used to sit outside his room and miaow loudly. She (the cat) was definitely disturbed, though we never really found out why - jealousy, curiosity or what? We had a cat net for the pram, but people don't have prams nowadays, I don't think. Babies go everywhere in cars. Baby and cat eventually settled down, though I don't think the cat was ever too keen on the baby.

Here you go trj http://www.nctsales.co.uk/prodshow.asp?id=351&cat=333&scat=336&parent=70Also, La Leche League for breast feeding is worth your wife (and yourself) checking out. Goodness, I do believe all the females on here have gone quite broody already, and we have to wait until July for the outcome

I've been trying to work out whether you thought the cat might be a problem for the stork or for the baby. I did mean the stork actually! We had friends with their 4-month-old over yesterday. The cat got a terrifying glimpse into her future; I was reminded of the young Master (from Dr Who) staring into the Time Vortex:
