Reminds me of 'The Night Mail Train' by W H Auden and Benjamin Britten(?)

GOT IT IN ONE !!!!

tippaty tap, was the thing, the train was full of people on laptops, someone next to me was writing with pen and paper, then she took out some mini laptop, with a kind of pen screen, it was very odd, compared to trains near windermere, which seemed full of backpackers, many of whom looked on, in admiration, at my small rucksack, ha ha, light camping rules Smiley

oddly enough, tip came from the chairman of the wycombe ramblers, he advised that the bigger the rucksack, the more you take, and find you don't need, i went with a 50 litre rucksack, but did find you do need a sleeping mat, turns out a rucksack plus carry bag works best, m&s bag for life becomes bag for camping, small rucksacks are a lot easier to fit on the train overhead compartment and take on the bus btw

the chairman also discussed byron visiting the greek islands, while on a ramble, with me, cool eh
