Aha, thank you Andy. Goddit! The soup dragon being the link! I am assured that, whatever Mr Postgate's own predilections may or may not have been during the heady days of the Whitstable herbal scene during sixties, the soup dragon's own recipes were entirely wholesome and herbal in the only most respectable kitchen-gardeny sense. No Clangers were off their heads during the making of these programmes. (Couldn't swear about the Pingwings though.)

Ah, now he is very definitely A Good Thing (IMHO etc). I think it was Veronika Lenz, a more substantive source of recommendation (and who knew him?), who pointed me in his direction.
