Speaking of whipping and poets: didn't Swinburne write a poem about whipping? Roll Eyes

He wrote several relating to that theme in one way or another - most notorious is 'Dolores' (http://www.willlytle.com/poetry/dolores.html). I've also heard it suggested that he may have written the anonymous Victorian flagellatory novel Sadopaedia.
