I s it from Wagner opera set Flying Dutchman?

I have a book that has a description of Wagner's flight from Riga to Paris (via London) on a small boat. Wagner's inspiration for an opera came in a Norway, where they sheltered from a storm.
Wagner is a fascinating character.
There is a description of Wagner and Minna runing from Russian boarder to Prissian under cover of darkness and a terrible storm. Poor Minna was terrified. And all of when she was pregnant.

Sorry about that, t-p. I didn't see Wagner before I posted. Widdecombe Fair refers to a well-known English traditional song of which the (very familiar) chorus refers to one Bill Brewer . . .
