Hmm, I had a cold a couple of months ago, and ever since I've been unable to produce any notes (with my voice that is  Wink ) above the G below middle C without them cracking into two distinct pitches. I quite enjoyed this effect when I first discovered it (singing in chords - woohoo!) but now that I can't get my normal voice back I'm quite worried it may be gone! As a composer, people tend to think you're a blithering idiot if you can't at least approximate what you've written vocally, so I'm thinking I might have to seek out a voice coach now to get some tips. They'll probably just tell me to stop drinking alcohol and coffee, though. Bummer.  Angry

Stuart, rest your voice and buy some Manuka honey from the health food shop.  1 teaspoon 3 x per day.  It's expensive if you get the strongest blend  at £12.00 per pot, but absolutely fantastic stuff.  I really recommend it.  Great healing properties.  However, don't force your voice for a couple of weeks - rest - that is an order!

Ta, Milly, will try it! Quite like the idea of resting my voice actually. Means I'll have to stop talking to myself though  Wink

I hate being awake at this hour, but somehow I am. I realise it isn't late in comparison with some, but I like to be asleep by 11 or so. I just feel so awful the next day if I don't sleep.

I'm a night owl and have been all my life.  I'm ironing at the moment.  I keep nipping in here between doing shirts and pillowcases.  I haven't even made my bed yet which is stripped right off to air the mattress, but I've ironed all the clean bedding ready to put on.  Unfortunately I've been a traitor to R3 and have been listening to "Poetry Please" on R4 and thereafter...

The only problem for me these days in being a night owl is the horrendous early mornings that go with the territory with young children.   Sad

Hey, I did a huge load of ironing today. Yes it was sunny outside but I stayed in to listen to footie on the radio (Cov vs Cardiff) while my wife tidied upstairs, yapped on the phone.

Also listened to a little bit of R3 and vinyl (Delius, RVW and Walton conducted by Barenboim).

I can't think how you cope, Milly! I am emphatically NOt a night owl, and I wish I were asleep. I always wake early whatever time I go to sleep.

You iron sheets and stuff? Crikey. I don't know anybody who does that. There's a lot of good cotton available that you don't have to iron, you know  Smiley

Yes they did, in fact Coventry are top of the 'Championship League' (the old first div whatever)

That position might be short-lived if Palace or Ipswich win tomorrow!

Too bloody right, Milly. There I was last night up watching Birtwistle until 2am, and at 8.30 this morning I'm expected to make cocoa and toast - what I actually did apart from this was accidentally leave an espresso pot on the gas for too long so I ended up with no coffee and a melted gasket.

I don't know about this "ironing" business though. Is it really necessary?

I know Mary but I'm a complete saddo and one of my many eccentricities is that I'm really fussy about my bed.  It gets worse I'm afraid......I change all the bedding every day.  Roll Eyes  I love the feeling of getting into clean, freshly ironed bed linen, especially when it's been a beautiful drying day outside and it's got that lovely scent of fresh air.

P.S.  I don't iron the fitted sheets - just everything else.  I've made up tonight's bed now and it looks fantastic!
