I've just driven 180 miles, from my parents in Cheshire then onto Lynns Borthers in the middle of nowhere in pouring rain and lastly back home again with nutters infront and behind me on the A59.  Really tired now.

And, as Antheil said earlier, it's work tomorrow.  Wonderful.

It is great to be back home now, Johnathan. There is still an evening ahead. You can rest now and have a good night of sleep.
Cheshire sounds like a beautiful place. I am going to google to see how it looks like.

Most of my friends are very competative and most of the time are trying to prove that their lives are better than mine, they travel more, have better husbands.

What a sad attitude your friends seem to have! If you are comfortable, to be content with what you have, where you are, can save a great deal of stress. And anyone who has to belittle someone else to make themselves feel better has yet to learn that the pain can be left behind. Perhaps you should hint to them that I offer an online counselling service at very reasonable rates!  Wink

Mary Chambers, Did you ever had an incident that they refuse to empty a bin?
Yes Mary. Have they bin to empty your refuse yet? Wink

mice and work and the credit low
Isn't that a line from a Tom Waits song?

If it's not it should be.

Hmmm, it`s been quiet in the Grumpy room for the last few days. Can`t have that!

I have just had the most infuriating telephone conversation with M&S (the company, not the board!). I contacted them to ask for a replacement card only to be told that I didn`t exist. I reassured them that I most certainly did and I had the letters from them to prove it. So we went through the litany of post code, house number, blah blah. Nope, I still didn`t exist.  Date of birth. Nope. Back to the top then. We went through this procedure FIVE TIMES and I still didn`t exist Angry  While attempting to mop up the sarcasm that was now dripping from my voice, I asked to be transfered to someone about making a fresh application. A perky voiced Cheryl responded, asked for my post code, date of birth and, whoosh, there I was.  I do exist! Whoopee.  What kind of idiot had I spent 15 minutes (at premium rate) talking to?   Angry Angry Shame on you Marks and Spencer!

And I couldn`t find pickling onions anywhere. Mutter mutter.

Grump over. As you were Grin

The Grumpy Room is only quiet because I've been grumpy on the Good Morning thread instead.

Marks and Spencer is curiously inefficient in some ways. Their website is awful - no proper descriptions of anything. Their food is rather good, though Smiley. (Wow, I smiled! First time today, I think.)

In that case, Marks and Sparks have achieved something useful today Mary! Smiley

Instructions to Chafie:

For best results, place frozen pizza directly on oven rack, not on a baking sheet. Wait 12 minutes. Enjoy.

For worst results, place it on a baking sheet, then read the instructions, then attempt to remove the baking sheet from under the pizza. Spill toppings of pizza onto the heating unit below the pizza, instantly creating a charred black mass that needs cleaning. Burn your hand. Curse. Wait 12 minutes. "Enjoy."

Ho C Dish,
You could also forget to switch on the oven at all and wait forever for your pizza!

Or the all time classic: forget to read the instruction 'remove plastic tray before placing in oven'

A Dish that chafes itself - there's different, isn't it, cariad? (With apologies to D. Ap Huw.)
