Many happy returns, Ruth

Incidentally, how is it that one sees when it's someone's birthday, other than trawling through all the dates of birth?

Happy birthday from me as well.  You may have to be in some low dive of a café de l’internet près d’ici

in order to see our greetings, but be sure of our best wishes.  Have a great time in Pariee.  Tell us about what you saw later.

Unfortunately Don B, she'll be at Opera Bastille, rather than the old house.

Don't see why that's unfortunate at all, David.  But I wouldn't know what the Opéra Bastille looks like and I wanted a familiar Paris landmark, but not a total cliché, viz.

So I chose the Palais Garnier.

Hope she and the girls have a wonderful time.  I take it the chief entertainment will be:

Apologies for a late entry: glad to see that it's a Ruth rather than a Frederic who has a birthday this time!

Very late birthday wishes to you, Ruth. Hope you had a terrific time at the Opéra Bastille Don Carlo and that Lady DHS enjoyed her 'fix' of Dmitri!  Wink

Look forward to a review, especially comparisons between Furlanetto's portrayals as Philip II in London and Paris.
