I don't think so. There are very few laws against Lesbians, mainly because Queen Victoria refused to believe they existed (apparently).

Inky, forgive, just thought, dunno.  We are who we are, we who we are am.  But the one thing that ignites us is classical music.

I can't give blood as a chronic migraine sufferer who self-injects.  (With migraine drugs only I hasten to add!)  I was told that the risk was to my own health rather than anyone else's due to change in blood flow to the brain during the process.

In Ireland, anyone who's had sex with a guy who's had sex with a guy (up the bum) is banned.  Not sure about the uk.

Does that include women?? Roll Eyes

I can't give blood either... phew!!! asthma.

I would imagine so... it'll be the tiny bit in brackets that's the key, I suspect...

(I'm sure that in England the pre-giving-blood questionnaire aims to exclude anybody, male or female, who's done you-know-what - though it may be time limited, i.e. you can't give blood if you've done it within the past 6 months or something.)

For once the use of "England" is correct Wink: here are the rules for Scotland:

That's why I was specific, Ron - not because I knew the rules to be different in other parts of the UK, but because England is the only place in which I have ever had the experience of giving blood Wink

I believe that, very disappointingly, that is indeed only an '(apparently)' and it is a myth. I've always liked the idea of an awkward audience between Queen Victoria and Disraeli which was abruptly curtailed just as he was getting the glove puppets out to demonstrate but, sadly, not so, it seems. It just wasn't in Labouchere's amendment in the first place.

I've just been looking at the National Blood Authority (for England and North(?!) Wales) website. There's a bit you can click to 'View Current Blood Stocks'. (Thuds onto floor.) That's just asking to attract the wrong sort of net surfer, isn't it?  And what goes on in South Wales? I think we should be told.

Alucard Mansions, NW1

Dear Mr Garnett,

Thank you so much for that information. However, the thrill of the chase, not to mention any other associated pleasures, would surely be severely compromised by the possibility of picking it up in a plastic bag, much like brussels from Tesco.

Yours,
 Count D.

(Bloodgroup O, but I'm really not that bothered what the replenishment is.)

Yes, any woman who's slept with a bisexual man (within a certain time-frame) is also excluded from donating blood.

Tin supplied the info, but the sex with the guy who's had anal sex with a guy doesn't need to be anal, I think.

No, it doesn't, I think you're right, but perhaps we could try to, um, keep it clean on here? Roll Eyes
