What we have here is a community, wheras other mb's in general rarely have this imho. Having turfed us off previously, I'm wondering how t.o.p. can re-establish that.  I think I'd be loath to go back now on priciple, because there seems little guarantee of cotinuity and nurture rather tha further misguided wheezery.

Blimey, they're just messageboards, aren't they? It's not like Leicester City vs. Derby County (sorry John). MBs evolve, surely, and maybe the hastily reconsidered Beeb ones will prove as popular and enjoyable as the old ones, in the long run. Meanwhile, this forum is great - a really friendly and responsive mix. And, I think, that's got a lot to do with the interactive potential of images and text formats. There's nothing stopping anyone posting anywhere, especially, as someone said, if it's about music... but I've always thought that the larking about aids understanding and the remarkable fostering of 'community' here, not inhibits it.

I've stayed in both for the whole time anyway.   I've posted much more on this one because I didn't like the tone and atmosphere that seemed to pervade the other one.  Rob is so nice and friendly though and always responds well to comments.  However, perhaps things will look up generally over there now.  I think there's definitely room for both forums because the Beeb won't ever encourage a "community".  That's the bit they didn't like I think, so hence the slash and burn changes that we got.
