5.30 pm. Evensong sung by the Chapel Choir of Selwyn College, Cambridge

  • Spicer Responses (Set 1)
  • Leighton (Second Service)
  • Sacriis solemnis by Sheppard

I won't be there myself but I'm sure they'd be very glad if there was a congregation, if any of you are around.

I should point out that it's no longer "tonight" but was tonight when I first posted it. How these indexicals come back and hit one: a sentence that is true one day turns out not to be true the next.

The occasion was last Saturday, 17th Feb.

Of course there'll still be live choral evensong if you go any day ——or rather, typically every day except Wednesday it seems, but today, being Ash Wednesday there is not just evensong at 5.30 (with Allegri Miserere etc) but also two extra services, one for the school sung by the choristers at 9.30 in the morning (missed that) and one at 7.30 pm sung by the Cathedral Chamber choir with Allegri Miserere again, Byrd Five Part Mass etc. Gosh this looks a rich set of offerings. Who needs St Johns college on R3?
