2. Philip Glass: Koyaaniaqatsi

Once more, excellent taste!

My own is less impressive:
  • Brahms: German Requiem
  • Beethoven: Symphony no.7 (2nd movt.)
  • unknown: A Man Alone from "the IPCRESS file"
  • Barry Gray (I think): theme from Joe 90

7. Finzi - Five Bagatelles IV. Forlana - Victoria Soames; John Flinders

Oooh Finzi; he's quite cool, from what I've heard of him (tired and rather actively digesting at the moment, can't really bring myself to recall the titles alas).

Joe 90 KB?  Could never be without the Wonder Woman theme myself.

Ok, my top 10 from iTunes:

    1) Liszt - Grande Galop Chromatique
    2) Bolcom - The Serpents Kiss
    3) Alkan - Comme le vent, Op.39 no.1
    4) Liszt - Fantasie on Szep Ilonka S417
    5) Liszt - Meyerbeer - Reminiscences de Robert le Diable - Valse Infernale S413
    6) Liszt - Don Carlos - Coro di festa e marcia funebre (Verdi), S435
    7) Liszt - Gnomenreigen (S145 no.2)
Cool Liszt - Tscherkessenmarsch (after Glinka - Russlan & Ludmila), S.406i (1st version)
    9) Liszt - Czardas macabre (S224)
    10) Liszt - A la chapelle Sixtine (orchestral version) S360

Hmmm, slight bias toward Liszt there methinks!

If I may join in a bit late....your 'Liszt' seems to have stopped the thread Jonathan!!

    My list would be

    Barber Violin concerto
    Delius violin sonata ( posthumous)
    Bach violin concertos ( Wallfisch)
    Dichterliebe ( Bostridge)
    Haydn string quartets
    Korngold violin concerto
Bach unaccompanied cello sonatas ( Rostrapovitch)
    Britten violin concero
    Shostakovitch string quartet no 8
    Shostakovitch piano quintet

So no bias towards strings there then !! Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
