I'm listening to my recent mini disc recordings and I found an item from PM (Radio 4) about the death of Deborah Kerr. Here you can listen to it:

Got a DVD of "The Grass is Greener" (1961) for a fiver, this morning.   Deborah Kerr, Cary Grant and Robert Mitchum play the central characters in a love triangle, set in The Stately Homes of England.   Noel Coward's music and lyrics are used throughout and the witty opening and closing titles are by Maurice Binder.   Director, Stanley Donen keeps the film moving at a brisk pace, despite a few longueurs, and the trio of stars remind us that sophistry and ensemble playing of this standard is rare today.    Cary Grant offering guest Mitchum, "Try a slice of Dundee cake" is, in itself, a masterclass of timing and intonation.

A real joy to see Deborah Kerr so delicately handle an emotional attraction for two men.   The filim presented in cinemascope ratio is an additional pleasure.

I never saw "The Grass is Greener", Stanley, but I think I'll like it! Smiley

Next month I'll have the chance of seeing "Black Narcissus" in Rotterdam:

I'm looking forward to it!
