If you click on 'quote' on Dr. Dish's message, you'll see he's inserted the direct link to the pic between 'img' and '/img'. You do this by selecting the 'insert image' tab (that's the icon second from left, bottom row).

That's the one! Thanks a lot! And sorry for being such a Fricking nuisance.

Of course the sheer wealth of detail is impossible to convey by this means but I have to admit that, on the only occasion I saw it (several years ago), it took my attention for what felt like at least ten minutes but which turned out to be nearer half and hour...

Best,

Alistair

Sorry Alistair, another liftestyles of the rich and famous contribution.
Why are you apologising to me? There's absolutely no need (and I'm not even certain what it is that you're apologising for)!

Best,

Alistair

Whoops, sorry (again) Alistair. My tongue in cheek apology was directed at Chafers for subjecting him to  yet another Pre-Raph work  Grin  My brain is obviously not up to speed yet today Embarrassed

Can every instance of pre-Raphaelite kitsch be counterbalanced by some striking Abstract Expressionism, Minimalism or something else of that ilk?  Grin

Cy Twombly! There's a name to conjure with, in more senses than one. Smiley

Here we go then. The central triptych of the Rothko Chapel. I honestly believe that this is one of those cases of 'you have to be there': the accumulated power of the 14 (?) canvases in the space itself is truly awe-inspiring. I've mentioned this before I think, but I witnessed a performance of the Feldman work in the chapel, years ago. Unforgettable.

Alistair - if, after the first img but before the ], you insert a single space and then
height=500, it comes out bigger !

Works with "width" as well

Great - but there's still nothing like going to see the genuine article...

You can also do this to make things look a bit less kitschy and more abstract:
