grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...amazon *always* do this to me! Whenever I try to buy something that isn't a book (in this case, a rather charming-looking waffle-iron), they're all, like "sorry dude, we're totally not going to ship your waffle iron all the way to ireland". And I'm, like, "WTF amazon? First pumice stone (as a gift for someone who was endlessly complaining about how ward-duty was playing havoc with his poor dainty soles), and now this: a waffle iron. Bah. Should probably go down and support our local kitchen-store anyway. But still.
*grump*
What really annoys me about Amazon is when you order something (e.g. a CD) and it says in the next 4 - 6 weeks for delivery. 6 weeks later, "delivery time estimated as end of May" etc.etc. and eventually, 6 months later, they email and say "sorry, we can't get it at all actually". The other thing that annoys me is when the stuff I put on my wishlist only a few weeks ago is suddenly "no longer available via Amazon" but it is on marketplace and costs £450000000000 from some git who managed to get it.

Yeah, they do that. I've tried before sending them emails to check things out, and get the occasional gift voucher from them. :/

Someone correct me if I`m wrong, but it`s May. Isn`t it? I mean, it really is May? Which is why I`m sitting here wearing thermal socks, clad in many layers of clothing and waiting for my shoes to dry out after wading to the local shop. Right. That`s what I thought. It`s May.......

Mort, Yes it's May, but we didn't have any April Showers if I recall correctly, so Mother Nature is making up for that (not human-derived global warming, what tosh ). My back garden is bathed in sun right now, 80% blue sky, but I agree it is chilly. John W

Take heart, the weather is coming in from the West, I'm in the West, and, yes, it is raining ....but it is gradually becoming very warm - maybe take your socks off tomorrow? I've just been out for a crafty lunch with my man...lovely setting, despite the drizzle. We did sit inside... Hey! I should be in the Happy room .... exit Stage right - x Jan x

Blimey, they look like Jane Manning and Anthony Payne, god bless yer, guvnor! Except that last time I saw Tony and Jane, Jane had dyed her hair pink (and was wearing pink slippers and what appeared to be a yellow dressing-gown over a grey tracksuit. This was in the Barbican, I should add).

Actually, they do though, don't they, martle. The similarity's quite striking, the more I look ...

Here they are at their recent honorary doctoring:
Not quite pink slippers but nearly a pink dressing-gown. Incidentally, if you're wondering why Tony's looking so cheerful, you should see the other photos in the set.
