I think it's eruanto who's confused us all ! I don't know how his family members were led astray either but agree it was a "bad thing" that they were.
Ah, yes, indeed. Things seem much clearer now.

bad hobbitss! musstn't be ssilly, no! I was out at the time that they reportedly went through the remote assistance procedure, but either they were talking to a nastie, or they deleted the tracks themselves. I've switched the feature off now. In case t-p or others want to do this themselves: Start > Control Panel > System (you might have to switch to classic view using button in the left) 2 On the Remote tab, click Advanced. 3 Clear the check box labelled Allow this computer to be controlled remotely.

It's also possible to start remote access from MSN messenger. I know this because I've helped a (slightly-less-computer-literate) friend once or twice, and also accepted help from known technical authorities.
But I would be very wary of accepting an offer of technical assistance from anybody these days unless I was reasonably certain of their identity.

Grrr. That darn Eurofighter thing keeps appearing overhead. Noisy devil. Horrible thing. It's that Typhoon thing. I hate jet fighters. It was fooling round with another one higher up.

It's a good job you're not here, then, Mils, what with RAF Leuchars just across the water and us in the flight path (depending on wind direction). But then I lived in Concorde's flight path for most of its existence, and for all its air-splitting rumpus, I missed it terribly when it went; such a wonderful sight, too.

We've got BAE just up the road in Warton. They're always testing the ugly things.
I do have a soft spot for the Red Arrows though. They're often here and they're absolutely amazing. They fly very low over the sea at the back of us here and look as if they're terrifyingly close to each other. They won't be as close as they look of course but it really is awesome to see them. You can't afford to make any mistakes at that speed. Someone told me that the maximum age for a Red Arrows pilot is 26. I don't know if that is true, but I suppose they need excellent reflexes.

We always get the Arrows at the big air show each September, as well as at least one other european troupe: not only that but they usually do at least one other local show, and sometimes come up just to rehearse. And of course Big Ron will be out with the cameras, trying to get the impossible shot....

Wow! Ron! That's amazing!
I stand on my balcony at the back and watch them when they do a display and they come over so low it's scary sometimes. They look as if they're only just missing the chimney. Then they swoop round each other over the sea and back to the little airport we have at Blackpool. They practise here too sometimes.
I need a decent camera really. I've had my little old one for so many years but it takes decent pics. I shall go digital like the rest of the world forthwith!

Indeed, an amazing photo.
We someitmes get military pilots flying overhead in jets at a tremendous speed and low level and it scares the heck out of us (and the cat). However, we also have lots of little private aircraft flying nearby and they are much better (and quieter).

Blimey Ron! At the risk of repeating Milly, that is amazing!! Hats off to you!
Milly, I know what you mean about bluddy fighter planes. They have always spooked me something rotten ever since I was a child. Whenever there`s any `Royal` occasion involving a flypast the damn things always fly back home over here. So the recent Falklands stuff and Brenda`s birthday had me diving on the floor and hiding under the table with the cats. The sight of a Lancaster bomber looming over my garden just scares hell out of me, although I do realise that I would probably feel differently if my memories were of WW2.

Mort, the Lancaster Bomber is HUGE. We had a one resident here for years at the airport. Someone occasionally took it up for a chug round and then it was bought by a private buyer for an enormous sum of money. Unfortunately he was reported to have regretted the purchase as apparently the plane was falling to bits and rusty - apparently discovered when he tried to move it.

Milly, Yes, the Lancaster is a big bugler. Some years back when when they were commenorating, I think, VE Day, there was a Lancaster, a Spitfire, a bi-plane and others droning past my ktchen (the Lancaster was the worst, blotted all the light out). When I recovered my composure I set out for the shops and the bloody things caught me on their way back from Buck House!. Shriek!!! I practically pressed myself through a wall trying to get away from them. Ok I`m a wuss. Sigh.
