(They really, really don't like names like 'James' or 'Rupert', let me assure you.) Neither do I, at this moment in time. However, oh the shame! I meant to type Martfather not Mortfather. Doh! Slinks away covered in bear flavoured shame to hide under the nearest large shrub.

On a lighter note, the six nations rugby starts tomorrow (so you won't get a sensible word out of me for a while) and who can forget Wales beating England in 2005? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGFFu8u0wlcFair brings a tear to me eye. p.s. Although we may paint "Twll Din Bob Sais " on railway bridges, it is affectionate in the extreme.

Grump. I've been outside hosing my windows and the back of my house generally to get the sand off. I'm soaking wet and cold now. House looks nice again but don't know how long for. Grump.

Grump. I somehow got stuck into yet another thread about the "inaccessibility" of modern music at TOP. I have so many more important things to do and I just posted three times in succession. What's the matter with me?

Richard, for what it's worth, I think you're doing a fine job over there. I do wonder whether it's worth it, though. Which is why I hardly post there at all.

I have whole days when I scan the threads there in something akin to sorrow. It's a very strange environment now: abject serial spamming is ignored by the mods, and even without that much of it seems like Groundhog Day: not nice at all.

Maybe you should toss up a FAQ somewhere and just direct people to it, if you find yourself repeating the same things over and over.

Ditto But I do have a soft spot for anything that requires beefy young men to display their perfectly developed thighs. (this is a classic after-dinner post.)

It's an idea, but I feel it might be construed in terms of my not being bothered to actually interact with people, which (it might be said) is part of the problem being complained about.

Eh? You're interacting plenty, rb. With a couple of exceptions, they just don't get it. I'd find it depressing/ sad, like Ron, if I hadn't decided to find it amusing instead. Not that that solves anything.
Later: I've just been having a good look at the place now. Good grief. The whole place is going under. If anyone wants to see what's really going on there, have a look at the 'Performance' board. The mods have finally roused themselves in the face of anti-royalist drunken ramblings by 'RobG', and it's a dogfight. <sigh>

Re the "official" R3 board: I haven't posted there for about 11 months. I do very occasionally look over there but I haven't been tempted to break my silence. Why bother when there are a lot of nice people here? <obsequious toady emoticon>
