I think what Antheil's getting at is the expression that begins 'fool me once, shame on you' whose continuation is well worth bearing in mind at all times whilst communicating on the Inter-Net. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ux3DKxxFoM

My washing machine has broken. The thing seems incapable of draining the water out of it or spinning, so my last load was sat in a pool of water when I attempted to extricate it. That load was, of course, almost every towel I own so I couldn't use any of them to mop up any water that leaked out. So after an entire Saturday paper and a washing bowl took the main punishment, I've been drip-drying the towels over night.
My sister is moving away from our home town which will mean that I will see her a lot less. It's good in so many ways for them, but I can't help feeling sad.
Finally, one of my students has texted me to say that they had found this site (and identified who I was) and were concerned that there were things I had posted that I might not want my colleagues to read. I've had a quick scan back over a few posts and haven't discovered anything which worries me, but I'd be grateful to receive advice from fellow posters.

I have a new washing machine now, but before I used to have problems like you described in your post. I learnt how to drain the water out before I could open the door of the washinig machine. I saw how the man did it and he later he explained again. I had to pull the machine from the wall and drain the tube into a backet.
I also post too much personal information. One never knows who is reading it. Do people think it is very dangerous?

The outlet tube appears to be taped into the waste pipe in the wall. I suspect that the outlet valve has broken. This happened to my dishwasher back in the land of ham.
I'm not really concerned with safety issues, more of good diplomacy and personal disclosure. I don't want to compromise my professional standing or my standing with my colleagues.

I can't recall your slagging off your colleagues hh, though I don't read everything you post of course. Perhaps your student was referring to potentially embarrassing personal things that you've revealed, eg some of your recipes

I'm pretty guarded about revealing personal information as many will have noticed. But then I'm obviously paranoid. And I hide behind my pseudonym in an obviously "cowardly" way. Actually, I don't want to have to admit to anyone how badly I manage my life!
