  Thank you, Pim.   Such a generous response.

  I'm an inveterate scribbler of notes and they're left in piles around the bungalow.   However, the Berlioz quote did manage to make it to my book of quotations.   I didn't enter the soource, although fairly confident that I got it from David Cairns's distinguished biography of the composer and your reminder has prompted me to get it off the shelves again.   I'll do it, rather than scribble a note, I think.  Cheesy
