If you feel inclined to dip into The Well Of Loneliness,  it's available on Project Gutenburg Australia - link here:

O we have it on the shelves, but I've never felt up to it.

The Well of Loneliness is pretty dire but amazingly it was the subject of an obscenity trial.  How times have changed.  And here is Radclyffe Hall.  Rather looking as if she is to launch into some Astor Piazzolla and some hot Tango.

This afternoon on Radio 4:

Just Between Ourselves

By Alan Ayckbourn

A bitter-sweet comedy about love, marriage and relationships.

Dennis is hoping to sell his wife’s car, thereby freeing up space in his garage for his own.

Meantime he is quite oblivious of the fact that his wife Vera is on the verge of a nervous breakdown.  When she asks him for help, he treats this as a request to catch up on some DIY jobs and is quite incapable of realising the seriousness of her condition.

Dennis ...... Stephen Critchlow
Vera ...... Samantha Spiro
Marjorie ...... Auriol Smith
Neil ...... Chris Pavlo
Pam ...... Alison Pettitt

Music by David Chilton; director Gordon House.
