Who here is familiar with Krenek's Counterpoint texts? They are extremely brief, with no real paedagogical apparatus, but so clearly laid out. I almost used the 16th and 18th-C ones for my Counterpoint class last year. Then I saw that he didn't cover a lot of material... still, I have to admit that his approach probably influenced the way I taught the class.

I think he understood more about composition than about pedagogy.
