Something rather different >here< - we do not know whether it is any good, but Scryabine is at least mentioned. Members will not find George Gurdjieff in Grove, who perhaps thought him too wishy-washy. Now that so many of the moderns have outdone him in that respect it may be that his time has come and we must be ready for him.

I could not access the link, but I find your post very interesting and even fascinating. I never even heard Gurdieff's name before and now I am interested to read his teachings. I spend a lot of time day dreaming and not concentrating on what I am doing. I like to have Gurdieff's exercises.

Well, t-p. I was taken to "Demonoid Poker", which does seem rather apposite for the old roué. It might be worth noting that he considered his improvisations at the harmonium to be "objective music". Wink

What about Thomas de Hartmann, Sydney ? Any recommendations there ?
I once heard Yvar Mikhashoff play "Danse de la vie" (hope the title's correct) - 20 minutes of rather wonderful piano music.

A bit of idle googling (not with idle thumbs I hasten to add) turns this up:
http://www.gurdjieff.org/index.en.htm
It might interest some of you.

music by gurdjieff ?? if boring holes into your brain thrills your innermost being, then this eternally is 4 U !

for me? ...not with a barge pole, it is karrrapp! i bear the scars, it was once used to torture me

if you want better persian or armenian, georgian , azerbaijani traditional music , there are other places to search & other sources to better sufi music, if that's your drift.

but in all seriousness, that badly-baked rubbish doesn't deserve any reserection (how do you spell that word??)
