". . . our own quartets, combining the best features of the styles of Mozart and Scryabine . . ." (quote from the Jean Barraque thread).
What are these quartets? How many of them are there? Are they for strings? Are they performed? Are they recorded?
The member has hinted at the existence of these quartets throughout this board's existence. It is high time, we feel, for Sydney Grew to satisfy the interest of his fellow-members and to "spill the beans", as it were.

Sydney,
Please don't be coy. There are some of us on this forum who would greatly appreciate your art. For those who perhaps don't see eye-to-eye with you during discussions, maybe your compositions will help them "see the light"?
There is, sadly, the small issue of revealing your true identity by directing us to your work. Does anyone have any ideas how we can overcome this obstacle?

Choose an unpublished work, but with some relevant date on it or something of authenticity, and composer name erased.

Well, it's up to Grew. Either he wants to talk about his work or he doesn't. He has talked about his work so he should share it with us.

We already know what the style is: a pastiche of Mozart and Scriabin.

I have today NOT recieved the following PM from Syd:
We note that Mr Harp has kindly set up a thread purportedly dedicated to our quartets. Well! For this we thank him and trust that other members will service us with comments and criticism once we have as is our intention made our works available for scrutiny having on a number of occasions hinted that such it is we will do.

Make what you like or not of the suggestion of Scruton here but please leave Hinton out of it... Thanks, Alistair

Let us not forget the all-important and highly non-obvious question: for how many instruments are these pieces scored*? (*or "with how many instruments at most might they reasonably be played?")

I've never seen so many people weighing in to talk about music they've never even heard!
One thing I think we can reasonably assume, though: they're string quartets, to be played by four players (seated).
