I listened to a radio broadcast (on SWR2) of Matthias Pintscher's L'espace dernier recently and have been quite bowled over by it. The orchestral music, vocal parts and not least electronics are very accomplished, ranging from subtle colour and shading to climactic outbursts. I think I can hear some influences from Boulez and Grisey, but there seems to be a strong unique voice here, and I hope I can hear this piece in performance before too long. The only other Pintscher I know is the Arditti's disc on Winter & Winter of some of his quartets (also very good), but now I would like to know more about his other pieces. Any particular recommendations?

Hi Tantris. Are you a member of the Music and Society board? Not wishing to pre-empt any responses you may get here, but I think you'll probably get even more over there. Here's the link -
