Some of you might have noticed there is a new addition to the Admin team today. The more eagle eyed of you will have noticed that 'John W' is now in red.
With Johns tireless help in the background and his "sounds familiar" quiz it is a move that will benefit everyone.
All complaints and queries should be dealt with in the same channels as before.

Complaints? I have very much enjoyed helping Michael out with this forum since it started, and the support we've had from so many of you has been really encouraging. We didn't know if this forum was really needed, but I feel, while the Beeb dither with their MBs, that we have at least kept a lot of fine people together and indeed increased the communication and friendship amongst us. Maybe one day the Beeb will sort their MBs and this new R3board might become redundant, I don't know, it all depends on us, the members here, but while it's here I hope you can all enjoy it, and you can rely on Michael and I to do everything we can to keep it going and to keep it interesting. Mi Lord,
Yes I can create new topics/sections etc. Whether we do depends on popular demand. As I was saying, a Po3 section sounds great but not if it gets 365 small threads. For the moment, there is the Classical Music on R3 section which is being monitored and members will be consulted if it's felt some re-arrangements would be useful.
After a new topic is created any relevant older threads can be moved into it.

All I'd like to add is that at the moment I'm working on some restructuring, and until that has done it really wouldn't be a good idea to add any other boards.

Congratulations (I think) to John on joining the admin team: good admins make better boards.
<pester> Sorry to be a pest. Will the restructuring include making it possible to post dates of interest on the calendar? (iggy the fact that I have a bthdy coming up). I am still thinking it would be good to be able to check forthcoming events there. </pester>

Ok Kitty, ok. I was holding off on doing this because of reservations that it would be abused. I have now allowed access to posting events on the calender and will post an announcement later about it. It is one of the board facilities that will just disappear if people start to abuse it. (Present company excluded.)

Many thanks for your comments, Michael + John - and indeed all the work.
This is a happy board. It has a different flavour to the other place and there's far less argy-bargy. I imagine that's appreciated by all of us.

autoharp, Indeed, everyone has played a part in making this place so friendly, positive and musically valuable! One thing worth pointing out, so far, the title 'moderator' does not exist on this board. Long may that continue John W

Just a point of order: I'm not colour blind, but I see no John W in red as suggested at the head of this thread. So is it a) only visible to PC people, or b) just the colour of the negligee he dons at the desk?.....What? Oh yes, you're right, that was Richard W, wasn't it?

That would be in the Users Online section at the bottom of the home page , Ron, but at this precise moment in time (otherwise known as now) the said vermillionate admin member ain't around. Bws.
