As suggested last week, we now have our own account at sendspace.com where large (and small) audio files (.wav, .mp3 etc) can be stored, shared, linked to and downloaded.

Anyone here can download files from that site if they are sent a link, or if a link is posted on a message on this messageboard.

Anyone here can upload a file to sendspace.com and share with anyone. Using our login and our space allows files to be kept together, and they can be edited.

Storage site: http://www.sendspace.com

login name: r3boards

password: radio3

The max file size is 300MB. The storage limit is 1.5GB (I think)

Files won't stay there indefinitely, maybe a few days/weeks as the site is for temporary storage only.

TO UPLOAD A FILE:

Go to http://www.sendspace.com
click Login and enter our name and password
click the Upload tab
click Browse to find the sound file on your PC
Description - not necessary, this allows you to add more information about the file if desired
Recipient's e-mail - enter only if you want to send the link to a friend or to yourself

(note: please untick 'send me an e-mail....' as that will just send a mail to the default address used when I registered the site)

Click Upload File

When your soundclip is uploaded you will see a link displayed, you will be able to copy the link and paste in a message on this messageboard.

The link is not a click-and-play link. It is a link to download the file to your PC.
For example, there is an small mp3 file of Mozart there: http://www.sendspace.com/file/iddmw6
which you can download to your computer as a test.

If you lose or forget a link, click Mysendspace and then look for tab Myfiles. Click Myfiles and you will see a list of the files currently stored. Click a filename and you will see the link.

Post any queries or advice about sendspace.com on this thread.

Regards,

John W
