Tomorrow on Radio 4 at 1130, the above titled programme documents the "groundbreaking" 1964 concert tour of Britain by among others Muddy Waters, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Tour manager was Joe Boyd who is in the programme and who included some anecdotes about it in his autobiography White Bicycles. Should be interesting. The book noted the differences between the reality of the black musicians lives and the expectations of the mainly folky British fans. Also the assumption that the musicians would all know each other and each other's work, whereas that was far from the case.
