I've got Harman/JBL Creatures, and I'm very happy with them - they go for around £45 quid.  They're built around a (largish) subwoofer with little tweeters.  The only drag (unless they've changed this) is that the volume control +/- is on two touch-sensitive buttons on the r/h tweeter. You either love or hate the eccentric design of these Wink   I have them hooked-up to a dvd player in the bedroom, and they make a very nice set-up for a smaller room.

I agree the JBL Creatures are a good buy. If you can afford more, may I suggest Acoustic Energy AE26-06W AEGO speaker system. I paid £70.00 for mine on eBay. They don't look HI TEC, like the JBL, but they sound just wonderful.

i'm afraid the budget won as they are for the office, Logitech Z4 £35; adequate and maybe the soundcard on my new pc is duff too.....

the puff for the Z4 on the reatail sites overstates their appeal...

at the £80 plus mark i am a sucker for the AEG M..have them at home and love em...

thanks for the suggestions
