Has anybody got any opinions about (or even heard of) an Early Music ensemble called "Rondellus"? I'm very tempted to buy one of their CDs but this is all I know of them:

Quote
Rondellus hails from Tallinn, Estonia. The band was formed by Maria and Robert Staak in 1993 to perform and promote medieval and renaissance music. All members of the group are professional musicians with years of experience in Estonia's finest early music groups (Hortus Musicus and others).

Rondellus' repertoire includes both sacred and secular music ranging from Gregorian chants to love and drinking songs and instrumental dances, including music of the trouvères and troubadours, works by Hildegard of Bingen, Guillaume Machaut, Francesco Landini, Guillaume Du Fay, Gilles Binchois, Josquin Des Pres and others. Together with "Sabbatum", Rondellus has recorded 4 albums.

(Sorry, I know it pre-dates Baroque but I couldn't find where to post about Early Music).

Interesting. I shall keep my ears pricked.

I don't think anybody here would censure you if you posted any general EM stuff  in the EMS board: The Radio 3 Boards > The Radio 3 Boards > Radio 3 Specialist Programming > The Early Music Show

Mad King Roger holds no sway here...

Not Rondellus,  but I've heard of Staak as an individual performer, years ago - delighted to hear he's gone from strength to strength.
