The Times documents another wearisome pizzicato-and-tell exposé of the alleged picadillos of a great composer...  and tries to offer some explanation for this well-worn furrow's popularity?

I've only just seen this. Well, at least The Times does appear to essay some kind of debunking (or should that be debonking?) of this indeed tiresomely commonplace practice, notwithstanding the journalist's surname(!)...
