Hey guys........

If you select to have an email hidden from others, you will still see it on your profile page. At no point will a hidden E-Mail address be hidden from the person hiding it.

It should however be in blue italics, which means that no-one else can see it.

I hope this helps.

Hi Michael.  I clicked to have my e-mail address hidden.  It does appear in blue italics in my profile but is actually shown on the members list and, when clicked, the usual e-mail form appears.  Being rather dim I have to ask why this is?

Soundwave,

I can't see your e-mail envelope so that will mean nobody else can.

I think it was explained before that you can see the envelopes of members who chose NOT to hide, AND you can see your own.

It is odd though, you won't want to send a mail to yourslef  Undecided

For extra reassurance, Soundwave, when I click on your name on the members list, it actually says 'hidden' in the email column.

Ho John W. and Martle.  Many thanks for your info.  I must intensify my fight against this senility.

I think I've ticked the right boxes, but would be grateful if someone would check to see if they cannot see my e-mail address.  Thanks.

I must say this looks like a nice simple-tto-use MB for those of us like myself who are somewhat older than others!

Thank you. Sorry for delay in acknowledging - I am still playing 'finding where everything is on this board' and I think I'm winning, but only slowly!

Can someone tell me if there is an icon which takes me to 'first unread post' on a thread, please?

Hello Susandoris - when you see the heading you wish to click on - there should be a page no. next to it eg. 1/2/3 click on 1 for the first page and then press your home key to get to the top of that page or your end key to go to the bottom.

In the listing for each board, you should see text/icon saying "new" next to each thread wehre there are unread messages (need to be logged in), just click on "new" and it should take you to the first unread message.  If there are lots, you may then need to navigate throught he pages as Milly describes.

Alternatively clicking on the icon at the right-hand side of the listing for each topic should take you to the very last post in that thread.

Hi clever people.

I wanted to post a pic in the Photobucket this morning (OK, just a manky bit of floor, hardly worth it right? but it meant a lot to me) but got a message "Too many failed logins, try again later".

Am I the first to experience this so far?

How long should I wait?

Can somebody point me to the current pwd? (bit scary having to request it online etc. but what to do Huh)

There's a thread in the announcements section, where there's a notice about a change to the password:

The password for our r3boards Photobucket account has been changed to

#9 and 10 Milly Jones and David Unnderdown

Up to now, I have not tried clicking on the line which says 'show new replies to your posts', but having just done so, I see that I should apologise for a very long-delayed thank you for the info. Sorry about that!

Hi folks -

Just wanted to emphasise something which may not already have been clear.

If you've chosen in your account settings to hide your email address from the public, that doesn't mean it's hidden from the Mod Squad (Mort, Ron and me). If you have an email address you would prefer us (and any future mods) not to see (for example if it contains your real name), it might be good to know this. And if that's the case I would suggest setting up a dummy yahoo or hotmail address and using that as your board account. It's not too difficult to change the email address you have associated with the account; if you need help just let us know.
