At the top of the board, where the menu offers
HOME   HELP   SEARCH   PROFILE   MY MESSAGES   CALENDAR   LOGOUT
click on PROFILE

To the left of your profile information is a panel with three subsections:
Profile Info
Modify Profile
Actions

Under the Modify Profile heading, click on
Forum Profile Information

Your Profile has three options:
O Personalized Picture
O I have my own pic
O I will upload my own picture

Choose ● I have my own pic If you already have a picture you want to use, on the internet. You will need to copy and paste the web address of your picture in the box alongside. Caution If you want to be sure your picture will not change, only use a picture which you, yourself, have uploaded, and have responsibility for. Pictures "borrowed" from other sites may change, or even disappear without warning!

Choose ● I will upload my own picture If you have a picture that you want to use, on your own computer. Try to choose a picture that is not too big (i.e. less than 10Kb - (thank you for pointing that out John Embarrassed)) so that it will minimize the resources needed.

Eh, uploaded pictures should be less than 10kB !!!!!!!!

Don't upload anything bigger, please.

The Photobucket is a good place to store your avatar image for linking.
(as long as folks here don't mess with them.).

Instructions in the Announcemnt section will likely be moved to this Community section.

Thanks for this John.
I entered the link for my avatar on photobucket-which I presume is http://my microsite there/ name of the avatar-
and what I see is a small red x in a tiny box top left of an avatar square. Does this mean its visible to others
though, or what have I missed out?

Muchos Gracias, Andy

ARSE!

I'm following the instructions as above.  When I paste the link into the field in my profile and press tab the picture appears.  But when I press 'Change Profile' it blanks out the link address.

What is going on?

I hate technology

Other way is to put your chosen image into the photobucket.

In the Profile>Forum profile information>I have my own pic paste the http:// link for the image.

So I've randomly picked out an image for you (banable offence I'm sure  Tongue ) until you sort yourself out  Cheesy

John - that's exactly what I have done, and it doesn't work.

What did you do to get that phallus on my screen?
