Is anyone in possession of and willing to part with a copy of the Marc-Andre Dalbavie disc containing Seuils and Diademes (series compositeurs d'aujourd'hui)?

It's not enough to burn me a copy, I need the original. I lost the disc that I borrowed from the library, and the item is now out of print.

Then you are in BIG TROUBLE.

I don't have a copy of it, I'm afraid, though if I did I would be happy to supply you with it because I don't like that music very much. If I were you I'd get in touch with Editions Gérard Billaudot, who publish the music and are almost certain to have a couple of copies floating around. (Don't tell them why you want it though!)

Failing that, try the UK distributor, Discovery Records on +44 1380 728000 (wait till Tuesday morning, they'll be closed Monday for Bank Holiday). Tell them it's the old "Adès" (that's a French CD label, not a British composer!) packaging you're looking for and ask them to kindly check their warehouse shelf. I suspect that disc's now been reissued on a new catalogue number under the label imprint "Universal France" - that's what's happened to most of that old MFA series - but if Discovery had any copies left in the old packaging what they sometimes did was simply to stick it on their shelf under the new number.

Actually, that's all a bit complicated to explain. Let me know if Richard's (cheaper!) suggestion doesn't work and I'll phone Discovery myself on your behalf.

The city is a process which always veers away from the form envisaged and desired, ... whose revenge upon its architects and planners undoes every dream of mastery. It is [also] one of the sites where Dasein is assigned the impossible task of putting right what can never be put right. - Rob Lapsley

Does anyone have a recording of Lachenmann's Accanto : Musik für Klarinette und Orchester?

Commercial or off the radio is fine. PM me if so.

Gratefully,
