but see the schedule......

Quote

Nigel Kennedy – violin
Jeffrey Tate conducts the English Chamber Orchestra

Grieg: Piano Concerto in A minor Opus 16
Jean-Yves Thibaudet – piano
Valery Gergiev conducts the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra

Mahler: Symphony No.1 in D major 'Titan'
David Zinman conducts the Tonhalle Orchestra, Zόrich

Jenkins: Palladio
Karl Jenkins conducts London Philharmonic Strings

Rodrigo: Fantasia Para un Gentilhombre
Julian Bream – guitar

Must have been a football fan who typed up the schedule.......  Cheesy

Has anyone figured out why I think a football fan typed up last night's schedule??  Smiley

Ho!  Finding that I am still annoyed with Radio 3's evening concert timing, I've taken to listening to C.F.M.'s 9pm concerts.  Though main stream, they do provide pleasant listening with the occasional performing surprise.  If I'm doing this, other R3 listeners are probably doing the same.  Silly of the BBC really.

I confess I often do too Soundwave! Especially if I'm planning work and want something pleasantly familiar on to keep me company. At least I'm not screaming at the presenter for that programme. (Must resist criticism of LNL again... Roll Eyes)

The Nash Ensemble recordings are particularly fine and on a newly released Hyperion CD.

Tonight 3 hours of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.

As opposed to Samuel Taylor Coleridge who featured on the R4 6.30 slot today (Douglas Adams' Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency) - anyone else get these 2 Samuels muddled up?  Embarrassed

Ron's tip: think of scat and its links with black music, that way you'll aways remember that  S C Taylor was the composer.
