I don't agree with his 'facts' there. Here in Warwickshire we can support local orchestras at concerts in half a dozen towns for £8, there are free lunchtime classical concerts at Warwick Arts Centre, and at the same venue see world-renowned classical artistes and ensembles for under £25, e.g.

Top pop stars and ageing rock-stars like Gary Moore come to the Midlands but you have to go to venues in Wolverhampton or at the NEC and they cost at least £25. Kids (and over 40ish folk) will attend.
