Hope no one minds me tapping into the collected wisdom like this.

The slow movement of A.S. Arensky's op.35 string quartet is a set of variations on a Tchaikovsky theme. This was subsequently arranged, as op.35a, for string orchestra. I've seen this arrangement listed as by both Arensky and Glazunov. My question is: was this arrangement by Arensky himself, or Glazunov, or are there two arrangements, one by each?

Muchly ta.

I've only ever seen the Variations as "arr. Arensky" (on the scores when I've played it).

Didn't know Glasunov was involved, so I suspect there must be two separate works.  I would be interested to see someone post that it was all his work!

Thanks Tommo - further investigation suggests that the Glazunov is an arrangement for full orchestra (rather than just strings), so presumably a separate work from the better-known Arensky arrangement.
