Bit premature surely?    Roll Eyes

Rossini's next birthday will be 29 February next year.  I'm not that good at sums, but I think it will be his 52nd birthday.

Any maths wiz like to come up the correct figure.

Good on Classic FM if it was more than just an outing of favourite "sparkling" overtures, but for Leap Year's Day, the other irresistible option is a complete Pirates of Penzance.

(I've just noticed a red line under the word favourite above.  The spell-check here, like the calendar, is American.)

They knocked out the faves but also a few other rare stuff, liked the way that he said 'from covent gaRDen orchestra' and plugged a 'recorded live' concert this friday.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If Brian Kay were still on R3, he might have Ivor Novello's Leap Year Waltz, too.

Quote Tastic...

Gioacchino Rossini (1792-1868), composer:
Wagner has beautiful moments but also bad quarters of an hour.
